Easy Sangria
We had a bottle of red wine for over a year that kept being left behind because it was on the sweeter side and none of us wanted to drink it, but we also didn`t want to waste it. We decided to throw a couple of things in a large jug and make sangria, and it was definitely the right choice. By far, the tastiest sangria we`ve had in a long time.
Sangria
Servings: About 6
Time: 5 minutes
Ingredients
1 Bottle Red Wine (750mL)
½ Cup of Brandy (Whisky works, but make it a ¼ Cup)
½ Cup Orange Juice
1 Cup Radler (We used our Waterloo Grapefruit Radler)
½ Cup Sugar
½ Cup Water
1 Orange
½ Apple
1 Lemon
1 Lime
Step-by-Step
1. In a small pot, bring sugar and water to a boil while stirring and quickly remove from heat. Let the simple syrup cool.
2. Slice and squeeze the juice of half the orange, lime and lemon into a large cup. Slice the other half of the citrus and add it to the bowl or jug you want to serve your sangria in. Cut the apple into medium squares and add it to the bowl as well.
3. Add the whole bottle of wine, brandy, orange juice, radler, (cooled) simple syrup and the citrus juice to the large bowl. Add 10 ice cubes and stir well.
4. Enjoy your new favourite Summer drink.
